Frequently Asked Questions
Speech and Language Therapy
What towns are in your service delivery area?
I currently travel to families located in Cambridge, Somerville, Watertown, Waltham, Newton, and Brookline.
My service delivery area changes based on location of my current clients. Feel free to reach out here to learn more about my availability in your area.
Do you have a clinic space?
Nope, no clinic location— I come to you! I believe in working with your child in their natural environment, whether that's at home, their daycare, or in the community. This way, your child builds skills in the contexts that matter most.
What's the role of caregivers in therapy sessions?
My goal is not only to work with your child, but to empower your entire family through education and ongoing collaboration. Caregiver involvement is tailored to meet the needs of your family, but can include: consultations, observations, joint interactions, caregiver coaching, and more. Do I need to clean or set anything up before sessions?
Nope! Don’t worry about cleaning or setting up your home before my speech therapy visits. My focus is providing support in your natural environment—where a bit of mess is perfectly normal.
Will my child need an evaluation to get started?
It depends! If your child is new to speech therapy, or if their last evaluation was more than a year ago, our first step will be to conduct a neurodiversity-affirming evaluation to better understand their communication profile. If your child was evaluated at another private practice or outpatient facility within the past year, I'll review the report to determine if an updated evaluation is necessary. During the intake process, we'll discuss your options and determine the appropriate next steps together.
Insurance & Billing
What insurance plans do you accept?
To make my services as accessible as possible, I'm "in-network" with Blue Cross Blue Shield, Harvard Pilgrim Health Care, and Mass General Brigham Health Plan. Of note, some of my services are not eligible for insurance reimbursement (e.g., parent meetings, consultative services). Any out-of-pocket expenses will be clearly communicated to your family.
If you are covered by a different insurance provider, my services will be private pay. Upon request, I can provide you with documentation (known as a "superbill") to submit to your insurance for possible out-of-network reimbursement. Reimbursement will depend on your individual plan, so it is your responsibility to understand your coverage and obtain authorization for these services if needed. For more information on my private pay rates, please feel free to reach out here.
How do you collect payment?
Most families prefer the convenience of monthly payments over weekly ones. To accommodate this, I send an email at the end of each month with the balance for services rendered. You can also download invoices, monthly statements, and superbills from my client portal.
Accepted Payment Methods:
Checks: You can write or mail a personal check, or use your HSA/FSA “pay my provider” option to have a check sent directly to me.
Zelle: This payment method functions similarly to Venmo but is processed through your bank.
Please note that credit card payments are not accepted at this time.
